Company Overview

By Light Professional IT Services LLC readies warfighters and federal agencies with technology and systems engineered to connect, protect, and prepare individuals and teams for whatever comes next. Headquartered in McLean, VA, By Light supports defense, civilian, and commercial IT customers worldwide.

Cole Engineering Services (CESI), a By Light company, is recognized as a premier provider of modeling and simulation (M&S) training solutions to the Federal Government and industry. Since 2004, CESI has been at the forefront of developing, maintaining, and integrating simulation-based training, serious gaming, technical services, training and other support in live, virtual, constructive, and gaming (LVCG) domains.  CESI also designs, builds and runs infrastructure, platforms, applications and processes that enable cyber training for the integrated multi-domain force. Our vision is to become a worldwide full spectrum LVCG and cyber training/analysis developer, integrator and services provider.

Position Overview

Cole Engineering Services, Inc. (CESI) is seeking an experienced Solution Architect with a passion for innovation, technology, and maximizing their application to deliver solutions that empower our customers to make informed decisions and reduce uncertainty.

We’re looking for a driven professional with a strong engineering, integration, and technical background, someone eager to expand our presence in the region while bringing deep expertise in designing and delivering Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training in multi-domain environments. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience with deployable architecture and the infrastructure that support them.

In this role, you will represent and demonstrate CESI’s technical and engineering excellence to both internal and external stakeholders. As an innovative self-starter, you’ll take the initiative, collaborate effectively, and provide critical support to proposals and projects. You’ll help resolve customer technical queries, shape their vision and strategy, and lead the development of cutting-edge solutions, concepts, and services.

We are seeking a high-performing leader who can engage stakeholders at every level and drive technical success from concept through delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and engineering leadership to CESI delivery and business development teams.
  • Lead the end-to-end solution and service definition process: gather customer requirements, translate business needs into technical system solutions, design architectures, oversee testing, manage implementation, ensure documentation, and enable long-term supportability.
  • Integrate CESI products with other customer simulation systems and real-world platforms.
  • Offer technical direction and engineering expertise in planning, design, costing, and solution implementation.
  • Lead technical responses to proposals, developing innovative and cost-effective solutions through cross-company collaboration.
  • Design customer technology solutions using industry best practices and relevant technologies.
  • Manage and resolve customer technical inquiries.
  • Deliver technical demonstrations, and support CESI’s presence at trade shows, industry events, workshops, and webinars.
  • Train internal and external customers on CESI capabilities.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physical Sciences, Computing, or Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • Ten plus years of relevant technical experience.
  • Strong understanding of Live, Virtual, and Constructive systems for training, test, evaluation, and experimentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of modeling, simulation, and training technologies and their integration.
  • Expertise in simulation and cyber infrastructures/architectures.
  • Proficiency with distributed simulation standards such as DIS, HLA, and DDS.
  • Adaptability to dynamic, fast-changing environments.
  • High proficiency in technical writing, including proposal development.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status and a SECRET security clearance.
